(week of 11/12/12) Ask your child about . . . *PLEASE SEND A WATER BOTTLE *First Grade program Nov. 27 at 7:00 p.m in the U.V. gym-Students are to be in their classrooms no later than 6:45. *activities in music, gym and library *ask your child how many days they received $1 for following the rules *using the Promethean Board daily *computers, laptops and ipads in the room *please send in empty cereal boxes Math *identifying and continuing a pattern *Friday was the 62nd day of school- 62 = 6 tens + 2 ones *odd and even numbers *identifying numbers to 120 *problem solving -when to add or subtract *adding three numbers *telling time to the hour *understanding tally marks *identifying 1 more, 1 less, 10 more, and 10 less of a given number *math tiles *math station activities *pattern blocks and geoboards *identifying coins and values *AZ is EZ game (sent home on Tuesday) Reading/Spelling *No Spelling list the week of Thanksgiving *reading centers daily *Vowel Town *identifying quotation marks *reviewing words with silent e at the end *please continue filling out the MONTHLY READING SHEET *Colored reading folders are due on Mondays and Thursdays. Please continue to make the effort to get them returned to keep on this schedule. Have your child read their book MORE than once.
